The Wales and Scottish Vision Strategy Country Implementation Groups have published their key achievement reports for 2015 -2016 which share some of the accomplishments of partner organisations in relation to the three outcomes of the UK Vision Strategy.
For both countries, achievements in 2015-16 included raising awareness of eye health among people from at risk Black and Minority Ethnic communities. In Wales positive outcomes also included revising the CVI process and improving the accessibility of public transport. In Scotland other achievements included increased provision of Vision Support Services and campaigning for street accessibility.
The reports highlight how collaboration from partners across the eye health and sight loss sectors can achieve positive outcomes to prevent avoidable sight loss and to support people who are blind or partially sighted.
