A society in which people with sight loss can fully participate

Outcome 3 of the UK Vision Strategy is wide-ranging and addresses the challenges that affect people with sight loss in their everyday lives. This includes, but is not limited to, employment, use of public transport, education, leisure and using technology. While our society promotes equality, there are still significant barriers to full participation.

In the next five years, we will work to:
  • Improve attitudes, awareness and actions within education, employment and other services.
  • Ensure that children and young people with sight impairment can take their place in society.
  • Achieve improved compliance with equality legislation.
